Gillian is an experienced Yoga Teacher and fully qualified Yoga Therapist having practiced yoga for 21 years and taught for over 14 years.
She qualified to teach yoga with Triyoga, London (2005 – 2007 – British Wheel of Yoga accredited). Gillian is also a qualified Pregnancy and Post-natal yoga teacher (Sitaram – Uma Dinsmore-Tuli), Restorative Yoga teacher (Anna Ashby, Triyoga), and has also completed a 2 year diploma in Yoga Therapy including clinical experience with Yoga Campus (British Council of Yoga Therapy Accredited) . She has kept up to date annually, as required by the British Wheel of Yoga, with Continual Professional Development courses such as yoga for disability, lower back pain, anxiety, depression and many more.
Gillian has a wide range of teaching experience gained during this time including pregnancy and post-natal sessions, yoga for tired teachers at a special needs school, yoga classes for people suffering from mental illness at a secure mental health unit and yoga for adults with special needs and learning disabilities at residential care centres. Gillian also led pain management yoga classes as part of a social prescribing mindfulness programme at a local charity.
Drawing inspiration from the different styles of yoga she has practiced over the years and from the therapeutic, healing practices she has learnt during her Yoga Therapy Diploma, her philosophy is that yoga is for all and her teaching is compassionate and adaptive.
She believes yoga can be beneficial for anybody.
